For those reasons I can't give you any hard and fast watering rules. You've got to check each of your bonsai trees daily until you learn what's what. That entails feeling the soil to see if water is needed. If the layer beneath the top is dry, you should probably water.

Remember water provides needed moisture to your tree. It also can wash out salts that build up in the soil. Flushing them out the drain holes. And it can deliver nutrients.
